How does apple cider vinegar treat sinus infection
Before presenting the remedy, here are the health benefits of apple cider vinegar:

Clears the sinus cavities
ACV contains numerous nutrients such as vitamins A, B1, B2, E, calcium and magnesium which clear up the sinus cavities and reduce the symptoms of the infection.

Thins the mucus
Apple cider vinegar can thin out the mucus accumulated in the sinus cavity and help you breathe easier.

Prevents bacterial growth
The acid content of apple cider vinegar eliminates bacteria and prevents the infection from becoming severe.

Antibacterial and antifungal properties
There are many different apple cider vinegar home remedies for sinus infection. You can prepare the simplest of them by mixing ACV and water, or mixing it with other ingredients in order to improve its efficiency.

Here are some of the best homemade apple cider vinegar remedies for sinus infection:

Consuming apple cider vinegar
This is the simplest way to clean and stop a sinus infection. Take a tablespoon of ACV three times a day to stop the infection and prevent it from occurring again.

You can also prepare a bigger amount by mixing ¾ of a cup of apple cider vinegar and 16 oz. of water. Drink this mixture throughout the day.

Gargling the solution is another way to relieve the pain.

Apple cider vinegar steam

This method can relieve the infection by clearing up the nasal passage. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of ACV will also eliminate all bacteria in there and prevent the infection from recurring. Here's how to prepare it:

Ingredients
Half a cup of water
Half a cup of ACV
A towel
A saucepan

Preparation
Mix the apple cider vinegar and water in a saucepan and heat them for a couple of minutes. Put a towel over your head and breathe in the steam from the mixture a few times every day to cure and prevent the infection.

Apple cider vinegar and honey drink
Mixing these two amazing ingredients will surely stop and prevent the infection from coming back. Honey, like ACV, has strong antibacterial properties that can reduce irritation, and the anti-inflammatory properties help it reduce the inflammation in your throat. Honey will also reinforce your immune system and prevent any infections.

Ingredients
2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
A tablespoon of honey
8 oz. of warm water

Preparation
Mix the apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of warm water and drink the solution to relieve the sinus congestion.

Apple cider vinegar decongestant
This decongestant will clear the mucus from the nasal passage and help you breathe easier. It's a combination of apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, honey, lemon juice and ginger.

Cayenne pepper contains capsaicin, an active compound that will open up the airways and reduce the inflammation.

Honey is a strong antibacterial agent which will eliminate the bacteria that caused the infection and prevent it from occurring again.

Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, a vitamin that fights and cures infections.
Ginger is rich in certain anti-inflammatory compounds such as zingiberene, gingerol and shogaol which are great for sinus infections when combined.

Ingredients
¼ of a cup of apple cider vinegar
Half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper
Half a teaspoon of powdered ginger
3 tablespoons of raw honey
¼ of lemon juice

Preparation
Mix the ACV and lemon juice in a pot and simmer the mixture on low heat for a couple of minutes before adding the other ingredients. Allow the mixture to cool down and store it in a glass jar, keeping it in a dark and cool place. Take 1-2 tablespoons of it to cure and prevent the sinus infection.

Note: add a pinch of turmeric to make the mixture even stronger.

Apple cider vinegar rinse
This rinse will clear out the nasal passage by eliminating the mucus that clogs the cavities. The antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties of apple cider vinegar will loosen the mucus and prevent the infection.

Ingredients
2 tablespoons of ACV
A cup of warm water

Preparation
Mix the two ingredients well, then put a tablespoon of the mixture in your palm. Suck the mixture with one nostril and place your head back to allow it to pass down your nose and throat. Swallow or spit the solution in the end, then repeat the process with the other nostril. Repeat the process twice a day for best results.

Note: always use organic apple cider vinegar that contains the "mother" substance floating at the bottom of the bottle.

Tips
These remedies can be used to treat and prevent sinus infections and relieve the symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, sore throat and fatigue.

Drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated – this will help you fight the bacteria and thin the mucus. When dealing with the infection, eat foods rich in vitamin A, which will strengthen your immune system and lower the amount of alcohol you drink. Keep your nose moist using a saline spray, and make sure you rest well to recover properly.
Put warm compresses over your face every day to break up the mucus and relieve the swelling. This will alleviate the pain, headache and facial soreness caused by the sinus infection. Avoid caffeinated drinks as they can dehydrate you, and also avoid cool drinks and foods. Dairy products are also a problem as they can cause phlegm.

Use these amazing apple cider vinegar to cure the infection, but if it doesn't go away soon consult with your doctor immediately. As with any natural remedy, consult with a doctor before starting their use, especially if you're pregnant or under certain medications.
